Judges 19:1, 2

Introduction

  • Many people today think that Christians gang up on the homosexuals lifestyle and try to get rid of them or keep them in the closet. Nothing could be further from the truth than that kind of thinking.
  • God loves (Not Agape love) the world (John 3:16). His goal is not to “destroy” people, but to repair or change people into what He intended them to be.
  • Homosexuality is a sexual sin, a perversion of what God has created for mankind to enjoy in the relationship of marriage between a man and woman.
  • Adultery, whoredom, and homosexuality are all sexual sins against God and the body that He created for holiness in pleasing Him.
  • In Judges 19:1, 2 we see that a priest (Levite) was staying in the mountains of Ephraim with his concubine.
  • This allows us to know that this was the culture of that day and age for a priest or husbands to take a wife and also take one or many concubines (Harlots).
  • God did not condone this kind of behavior. The Law states in Leviticus 21:7…
  1. They shall not take a wife that is a whore, or profane (polluted);
  2. neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.
  3. 13) And he shall take a wife in her virginity.
  4. 14) A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take:
  5. but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.
  • The reason for this Law commanded by God for His priests…15) Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the LORD do sanctify him.
  • For a priest/man of God to marry a whore was considered unholy matrimony, an unholy union and therefore their children would be a “profane (unholy)”
  • The LORD (God) sanctifies the priest. Remember the word “sanctify” means to be set apart from the world, to be a holy example to others to live accordingly.
  • These priests were not doing that and therefore the “ramifications (effect, result, or consequences)” of such activity leads to their destruction (death).
  • The word “ramifications” means…to divide, spread out, branch out, results from a certain action. In other words…when you sin, it causes others to sin. It is like a disease that a person may have. If that diseased person touches someone else it affects them and they touch someone else. It a “domino effect.”
  • Sexual sins by one person affects many people’s lives and never in a good way. This is why God has commanded His people to follow His commandments. Not because God wants to boss us around. Fact is, that He wants the best for us.

I. No Strict Rule Means Immorality

  A) In the beginning

  • When it all began for mankind was in Genesis 1:26…And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
  • Easy to understand the KJV isn’t it. From the beginning we can see that God gave man His plan, His intent, His desire, and His will for His creation.
  • As simple as black and white…
  1. Make man just like God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit (us). Make a creation (man) to rule creation and have the same attributes of God, reasoning like God, intellect, emotion and will of God. At the same time have the holiness of God.
  2. Man is to have dominion. This is man’s unique relationship to creation. To be a representative of God in his dominion. The command to rule separates man from creation.
  3. Make male and female for a specific purpose.
  4. The purpose of this male and female was to 1) Be fruitful, 2) Multiply, 3) Replenish the earth.
  • Most everyone that has been in a church that teaches good and true bible doctrines also taught by Jesus Christ and issued by God would know that God intended for man and woman to be obedient to God by following His commands and plan for life which is to “procreate,” and attend to the needs of one another bringing perfect harmony in becoming “one body”.
  • To do that, God made the organs of man and woman to accommodate one another in a fashion that allows them to have offspring and fill the earth with more of God’s human creation that will live for Him. This is God’s order.

  B) God’s order

  • It has been claimed or believed by some LGBT communities that God made some people homosexuals and others heterosexual.
  • This is a lie straight from the pits of hell! Let me explain. God would be a liar, undependable, and disorderly if that statement were true.
  • Gay people cannot reproduce. And there is never harmony. They cannot procreate because it is not the natural order of God.
  • God also views homosexuality as an abomination and dreadfully sinful act against the body intended to be a holy vessel sanctified for His purpose.
  • Leviticus 18:22…Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is 23) Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
  • “…it is confusion” Why is it confusion? Because it is not the order of God. It was not designed by God to be productive for His will.
  • No matter who or what it is, when you take someone or something and do not use it according to its designed purpose…you ruin or destroy it.
    EXAMPLE: Take a car (New Buick – Park Avenue) intended for normal driving and then try to use it in “Off-Road” driving or dirt track racing. The Buick will be ruined and may have the undercarriage broke or damaged and shocks ruined causing it to run rough when using it again under normal road conditions.
    EXAMPLE: Take a pair of pliers and use it to drive a nail into wood. If you don’t hurt yourself first, you may damage the wood after many attempts in try hitting the nail with pliers or damage the nail trying to hit it.
    EXAMPLE: Take limbs from your back yard and try putting them into your kitchen sink garbage disposal to produce mulch for your garden and you will end up with a broken disposer or broken arm trying to hang on to the limbs in the disposer.
  • The point is this…No matter what it is or who it is, it doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out that if you use something for any other purpose than what it is intended…you will destroy it or damage something.
  • God did not intend for our bodies to be abused. God intended “…that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” (Romans 12:1 KJV)

  C) No king, no strict rule

  • Imagine a world with no king, no president, no queen, or no kind of authoritative figure whatsoever.
  • God teaches us to live under an authority as He (God) is our final authority.
  • God has designed man to have authority (Dominion) over every living thing including his wife and family.
  • Without proper authority figures, chaos, turmoil, destruction and Godlessness are inevitable.
  • As we look into our text verse today, we can see an example of what the era of Judges was like in Judges 19:1…And it came to pass in those days, when there was no king in Israel, that there was a certain Levite (A priest) sojourning (Camping out, or staying for awhile with no intent on a permanent dwelling) on the side of mount Ephraim, who took to him a concubine out of Bethlehemjudah.
  • No king, no authority to control people under strict rule leads to anything Godly to be contaminated.
  • Verse 2) And his concubine played the whore against him, and went away from him unto her father’s house to Bethlehemjudah, and was there four whole months.
  • Two things stick out like a sore thumb in these two verses. 1) A priest making camp near a city where immorality is rampant. I believe the reason why is because he had allowed the lifestyles of the sinful people to hinder his walk with God and blind his eyes to seeing his complacency. 2) A priest has a concubine (Prostitute). Meaning, not marry but committing adultery.
  • I Corinthians 6:9…Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10) Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11) And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
  • The word “effeminate” means to make womanly, or have the qualities attributed to women. 2) not manly, as in weak, timid, soft, delicate, etc. 3) those who submit to unnatural lusts.
  • “abusers of themselves with mankind” means… men sleeping together, women sleeping together, animals and humans sleeping together. Any kind of behavior that is opposite of God’s Law or plan (intension).

II. The Judgment of God Against Homosexuality

  A) Disease

  • With all sins against God’s order or command, there comes a judgment. It is a promise of God and it should be heeded.
  • Venereal disease is among many STDs (Sexually Transmitted Disease) are very common place among the homosexual lifestyle. This is the judgment of God upon the homosexuals for their sins against the body which is designed to be a holy Temple of the Lord.
  • It is extremely rare among heterosexual (man and woman) Usually diseases among heterosexuals are due to the lack of cleanliness or hygiene.
  • During homosexual behavior, sperm can penetrate the partner’s colon wall. When inside the body, the sperm adversely effects the immune system, resulting in the person being more vulnerable to disease. This is especially a problem, in that homosexual practices commonly transmit many diseases which are uncommon among heterosexuals.
  • There are many diseases among the homosexual lifestyles that are not at all included in a heterosexual lifestyle such as… AIDS, “Gay bowel syndrome,” parasitic amebiasis, rectal gonorrhea, infectious hepatitis A, urethritis, viral herpes, pediculosis infestation, and many others.
  • The rectum is made by God to get rid of the body’s “waste” that is not digestible and contains disease causing materials. It was not made for sexual experiment.
  • Several studies have been made and noted that among the homosexual men it is common to have 50 sexual partners. 28% of those men had more than 1000 partners, 15% had between 50-1000 partners, 32% from 500 -100 partners and only 25% had less than 100 partners.
  • Homosexuality involves a wide range of behavior with complex causes including biological, social, environmental, psychological, and moral.

III.  Interesting LGBT Facts

  A) FYI (For Your Information)

  • The planet Mercury is a symbol used by the transgendered community. The sign for Mercury is a crescent shape and a cross, which represents the male and female principles in harmony in an individual. Additionally, the god Mercury fathered Hermaphroditus, who had both male and female sex organs.
  • The labrys, a double-edged hatchet or axe, is a symbol of strength and unity for the lesbian community. Demeter, the Goddess of Earth, is said to have used a labrys as her scepter, especially in religious ceremonies.
  • The number of gays and lesbians in the U.S. is estimated to be approximately 8.8 million.
  • Same-sex couples are raising about 1 million children in the U.S.
  • Historians note that in some cultures, homosexual behavior was not viewed as effeminate but as evidence of a man’s masculinity. Examples include the Celtic and Greek cultures.]
  • The state with the most gay couples is California, with approximately 92,138.
  • The state with the least gay couples in North Dakota, with approximately 703 couples.
  • The U.S. state/district with the highest concentration of gay couples is Washington, D.C. (1.29%).
  • The lowest concentration of gay couples is found in North and South Dakota (0.22% each).
  • The three U.S. cities that have the most gay couples are New York City (47,000), Los Angeles (12,000), and Chicago (10,000). The major metropolitan cities with the highest LGBT concentration are San Francisco 15.4%, Seattle 12.9%, and Atlanta 12.8%.
  • In some American Indian cultures, having a same-sex attraction was called being Two-Spirited. The tribe honored such people as having special gifts and being especially blessed.
  • Being left-handed is more prominent in gay people. Gay people tend to be left-handed much more often than heterosexuals.
  • Gay or lesbian teens are 50% more likely to use alcohol and three times more likely to use marijuana than heterosexual teens. They are also more likely to be homeless.
  • Homosexuality has been recorded in China since ancient times and has often been referred to as “the cut sleeve” and “pleasures of the bitten peach.” Scholars speculate that the growing acceptance of homosexuality in China is due to China’s “one-child” policy. Additionally, unlike the United States and Europe, which are predominantly Christian, and Southeast Asia, which is predominately Muslim, China has no dominant religion to fuel debates against homosexuality. Furthermore, researchers believe that homophobia in China is simply a European import.
  • As of 2010, gay marriage is legal in New York, Iowa, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. California, New Jersey, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and Washington, D.C., offer same-sex partners benefits similar to those offered to married couples.
  • Same-sex marriage is legal in Belgium, Spain, Canada, South Africa, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Portugal, Iceland, and Argentina. In Mexico, same-sex marriage is legal but performed only in Mexico City.
  • The rainbow flag is the most prominent symbol of lesbian and gay pride. Gilbert Baker, also known as the “Gay Betsy Ross,” designed the rainbow flag, or Pride Flag, in San Francisco in 1978. The flag is the most prominent symbol of lesbian and gay pride. The colors, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet represent sexuality, life, healing, the Sun, nature, art, harmony, and the spirit, respectively.
  • In 1930, Hollywood studios enacted the Motion Picture Production Code, prohibiting all references to homosexuality or “sexual perversion” in the movies. It was strengthened in 1934 under pressure from the Catholic-led Legion for Decency. It remained in effect until the 1960s.
  • The first U.S. lesbian magazine was titled Vice Versaand was written by the pseudonymous Lisa Ben (an anagram for “lesbian”).
  • In 1952, the Unites States Congress enacted a law banning lesbians and gay foreigners from entering the country. The law was on the books until it was repealed in 1990.

IV. Top Ten Strategies of Implementing the Homosexual Agenda in Public Schools

  A) Promote victim status (Make homo’s look like victims)

  • Homosexual activists have successively cooperated with the Clinton/Gore Administration to force a very pro-homosexual program based upon the false precept that gay students are “at risk” because they face “discrimination” from students not gay.
  • These activists openly admit that gay students are more troubled and commit suicide far more often, but attribute this fact to the “discrimination” faced by gay students.
  • Further, activists admit that gay people face more risk of diseases and premature death, but say adamantly that this situation would be reversed if schools just taught “safe sex”, coupled with teachings on how “normal” and “healthy” homosexuality truly is.

  B) Start with your young children

  • You will be shocked to know that the plan to train children to accept homosexuality extends all the way down to preschool!
  • Activists acknowledge that children are more teachable if they are reached at this young and tender age.
  • If you are taking your children to public day care, or to preschool, you must actively search out what they are teaching.

  C) Discuss alternative families

  • Homosexual agenda has re-defined “Family” to include same-sex couples.  This is the reason we are suddenly seeing more and more gay couples adopting children from the state agencies.
  • Just as Liberal Protestants use the word “diversity” to bring all religions together under the same roof, so homosexual activists are using this word to promote acceptance of this sexual lifestyle among the children in public schools.

  D) Get nondiscrimination codes against LGBT passed

  • Activists for the homosexual cause discovered that a change in public attitude was most often preceded by, and actually aided by, a change in the school codes.
  • Therefore, they have worked very hard in local communities throughout our land to get the Public School Board to make “discrimination” of gay students against the school code.

  E) Promote a “Coming out” or LGBT pride

  • When authority figures in a society embrace something, they make it far more attractive to people who do not have a strong predisposition or prior training against it.
  • Homosexuality is no exception.
  • Students who might not have even seriously considered gay sexuality might be tempted to try it if they see their public school authority figures accepting it and promoting it heavily.
  • Kids emulate sports figures because of their glamour; they also tend to emulate what their teachers are promoting, especially in the targeted Elementary and Preschool areas.

  F) Encourage (and fund) pro- homosexual student clubs

  • The most logical extension of the above “Pride” in being gay on behalf of authority figures is to create gay student clubs that will even more effectively spread the gay message throughout the student body.

  G) Adopt homosexual-affirming curriculum

  • Textbooks have been rewritten to promote homosexuality.
  • Consider, for example, how a math question has been worded so it promotes homosexuality.  “The use of same-sex couples in word problems; (example: if 10,000 people marched in the Gay Pride March in 1990 and 25,000 in 1992, what was the average increase?)..?”

  H) Use openly Homosexual Teachers as role models

  • Do you realize how devastating it is for many students when their authority figures are openly gay or are pressing a homosexual agenda.
  • Authoritative people are an influence on young people. Do you want your child influenced this way?

I) Pro –Homosexuality counseling provided for troubled youth

  • Homosexual activists admit that gay youth are more troubled than normal youth, but refuse to admit that the reason is the inherent mental confusion and instability created by engaging in a sexual practice absolutely forbidden by Creator God.
  • If a person pours kerosene in his oil spigot in his car, he knows he will ruin the engine because he is doing something other than what the engine was created to accept. The same principle applies with our bodies and minds; when a person engages in certain heinous sin forbidden by Creator God, they immediately begin to receive God’s judgment in their minds and bodies.  (Romans 1:18-32, but especially verses 27-29)

  J) Create opposition with Godly people

  • The Cutting Edge Ministries was very quickly added to the “Hate List” of homosexual and lesbian groups because we taught the Biblical truth.
  • The Clinton Administration has b een very active in getting laws passed and Executive Decisions created that have systematically laid the groundwork for governments Federal, State, and Local, to one day physically move against all Christians who oppose the practice of homosexuality based upon Biblical beliefs.  The trap has been laid already, awaiting only the right moment to strike.

V. God’s Purpose for the Church Towards LGBT

  A) Remain strong in our doctrines

  • Do not bend or break from what we have been commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • We are taught to “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” (1 John 2:15 KJV)
  • When God says “Love not the world” in I John 2:15, one would think that it is a contradiction to John 3:16 where Jesus said “For God so loved the world.”
  • In I John 2:15, the phrase “Love not the world” is meaning to not have a deep desire for the things, events, cares, agendas, and etc. that are in this world.
  • God wants us to love people because He loves His creation (people).
  • We must realize that God doesn’t want us to become so involved with the world’s concepts and agendas (Like the LGBT, save the whales and trees) that it consumes us and squelches God’s leading in our life.
  • God destroys those who continue to practice homosexuality (Sodom and Gomorrah Genesis 18:20-19:25) because it is sin and a complete opposite of what God designed for relationships.
  • God always gives people a warning before He brings judgment.
  • Homosexuality is an abomination unto God (Leviticus 20:13)
  • In fact, there are 5 sexual sins that are an abomination unto God and will bring His swift judgment when continued to be practiced.
  • 1 Timothy 1:8..But we know that the law is good (useful), if a man use it lawfully;
  • Verse 9) Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers (killers, murderers),
  • 10) For whoremongers (fornicators), for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers (kidnappers), for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
  • For the sake of time and explaining this entire passage of scripture let us note verse 10, “…for them that defile themselves with mankind.” This is specifically talking about homosexuals and sodomites.
  • Someone may say… “What “doctrines” should we believe in…Baptist, Methodists, Catholic, Lutheran, or Mormon?” I say …none of the above. Those are not doctrines but rather names of religions. In today’s world there are Baptists, Methodists, Catholics, Lutherans, and Mormons that I would rather not associate myself with because their doctrines have never been that of Jesus Christ or they have changed so drastically over the years.
  • I am a firm believer and follower of the “doctrines” of Jesus Christ (the Word), and all of the Bible that is The Word of God from cover to cover.
  • Paul warns us in 1 Timothy 4:1…Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
  • I believe that we are living in “the later times” that Paul is talking about here. People departing (or abandoning) the faith and paying more attention to a spirit that lures them away with physical attraction and not spiritual attraction. People are easily swayed by weak doctrines (instigated by Satan himself) because it doesn’t make them feel bad or upset, or hurt their itty bitty feelings.
  • Let us look at what Jesus said in John 7:16…Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his (God’s) that sent me. 17) If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
  • This is as plain as the nose on your face. Jesus said that His doctrine is not something He created or come up with… but rather the doctrine that He follows is the doctrines of His Father which is the Father of ALL CREATION!
  • Jesus further stated that when God calls a man to preach His Word you will know it by the doctrines he teaches, preaches, and lives by that causes you to do likewise.
  • Nowhere in God’s Word do you see where God supports LGBT, homosexuals, sexual perversion of any kind. NOWHERE.
  • God never called any homosexual to be a leader of His people.
  • For God to allow this to happen He would have to rewrite the entire Bible (His word) because it would be in contradiction to it.
  • God and LGBT do not go hand in hand.
  • II Corinthians 6:14…Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15) And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16) And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17) Therefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18) And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
  • If you are a member or participant in the LGBT world or movement, I encourage you as Christ would any person of any sin “…Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”  Matthew 4:17 (KJV)
  • Luke 17:3…Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. 4) And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
  • Revelation 3:3…Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
